Yükseköğretimde Öğrencinin Dersi ve Öğretim Elemanının Öğretim Performansını Değerlendirmesi: Pedagojik Formasyon Sertifika Eğitimi Örneklemi

Öz

Yükseköğretimde öğretimi değerlendirme yöntemlerinin en yaygın olarak kullanılanı Öğrenci Ders Değerlendirmeleridir. Ülkemizde çok
sıklıkla kullanılmayan ve literatürde ülkemize ait fazla çalışma bulunmayan bu yaklaşımla İç Anadolu’da bir devlet üniversitesinde 2018
Güz dönemi 9. dönem birinci yarıyıl Pedagojik Formasyon Eğitimi Sertifika Programı’na devam eden 44 kadın, 127 erkek toplamda 171
öğrenciden seçmeli olarak aldıkları Öğretmenlik Meslek Etiği (2 grup) ve Bireyselleştirilmiş Öğretim (3 grup) derslerini ve bu dersleri
veren öğretim elemanının derslerdeki öğretim performansını değerlendirmeleri istenmiştir. Araştırmada, araştırmacı tarafından daha
önce de kullanılan ve aşina olunan Webster Üniversitesine ait ve Kuzey Amerika’da pek çok üniversitede benzeri kullanılan bir ders
değerlendirme aygıtı Türkçeye çevrilerek veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır.
Katılımcıların çok büyük kısmı (%93.6) “evet dersler faydalıydı, (%95.9)’u bu dersleri arkadaşlarıma tavsiye ederim derken çok daha
büyük bir oranda (%96.5)’i de bu derslerle ilgili memnuniyetlerini beyan etmişlerdir. Bireyselleştirilmiş Öğretim dersini alan öğrencilerin,
Öğretmenlik Meslek Etiği dersini alan öğrencilere nazaran daha yüksek oranda memnuniyet gösterdikleri gözlemlenmesine rağmen
Mann-Whitney U testi kullanılarak yapılan analizlerde yirmi yedi yargıdan sadece dokuzunda anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmiştir.
Çalışma sonuçlarına bakıldığında her iki dersin de amaçlarına ulaştığı ve öğrencilerde istenen farkındalığın sağlandığı anlaşılmaktadır.

Student Evaluation of the Course and the Lecturer’s Teaching Performance in Higher Education: A Case of Pedagogic Formation Certificate Program

Öz

Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) is the most widely used method of evaluating teaching in higher education. Remaining not
researched enough and being not widely used in Turkey, this method has been conducted on 44 females and 127 males in total 171
students taking the courses Ethics of Teaching Profession (3 groups) and Individualized Instruction (2 groups ) electively in the first
semester of the 9th term of the Pedagogic Formation Certificate Program in 2018 Fall Semester at a state university in the central Anatolia
in order to determine participants’ perceptions about the course and the lecturer’s teaching performance during the lectures. A Course
Evaluation tool, familiar to the researcher, used by Webster University and whose cognates are heavily used in many universities in North
American context was translated into Turkish and used in the study.
According to the data, a great majority of the participants (93.5%) stated that “the courses were useful”, (95.9%) declared that “they would
recommend the courses to their friends” and even greater majority of the participants (96.5%) asserted their satisfaction with the courses
in general (excellent + very good). Although students who attended the Individualized Instruction course were observed to have higher
satisfaction levels compared to those taking Ethics of Teaching course, a significant difference was found in only nine out of the twentyseven
judgements by using Mann-Whitney U test.
According to the results of the study, both lessons have achieved their aims and managed to increase students’ awareness
