The purpose of this study is to investigate the organizational socialization experiences of the academic staff of the sport sciences in
terms of the behavioral and affective outcomes of organizational socialization. The Organizational Socialization Model (OSM) serves
as the foundation for the study’s theoretical framework. The phenomenological pattern in the interpretative paradigm served as the
foundation for this study’s qualitative research methodology. 11 academicians (3 females and 8 men) were willingly recruited for the
study using the maximum diversity sampling approach, one of the purposeful sampling techniques. A semi-structured interview form
with 15 open-ended questions and personal information questions was used to collect the data. The acquired data were analyzed using a
content analysis method. Validity and reliability were ensured in the study using the credibility, transferability, reliability, and verifiability
methodologies. Academics’ perspectives on affective results for organizational socialization were viewed as intrinsic work motivation and
job engagement, whereas their views on behavioral outcomes for organizational socialization were seen as staying in the organization
and being innovative and collaborating to achieve goals. It has been acknowledged that controls are required in academic advancement
standards and that financial support is insufficient for participation in international meetings and organizations, which are important for
academic socialization. It has been highlighted that the academicians from the Faculty of Sport Sciences who are taking part in the study
are well integrated with their field. Additionally, academics have argued that it’s important to maintain socially acceptable connections
throughout each phase of a professional development process. As a result, it is acknowledged that organizational socialization affects
professional development significantly.
