Öz

The smut species, Anthracoidea irregularis (Liro) Boidol & Poelt (Anthracoideaceae) on Carex halleriana Asso
(Cyperaceae) was reported for the first time from Turkey. The morphological and microscopical features of
this fungi are described with figures.
