Kurumsal Sosyal Sorumluluk: Tanımları, Tarihi, Teorileri, Boyutları ve Avantajları Üzerine Kuramsal Bir Çerçeve

Öz

Günümüzde bireysel işletmeler geleneksel kâr etme hedeflerinin ötesine bakmakta, toplum ve çevre üzerindeki etkilerini yeniden düşünmekte ve paydaşlarla olumlu ve sürdürülebilir ilişkiler geliştirmenin yollarını aramaktadır. Kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk, işletmelerin sosyal ve çevresel kaygılarını ticari faaliyetlerine ve paydaşlarıyla etkileşimlerine gönüllü olarak entegre ettikleri bir kavramdır ve esas olarak, işletmelerin daha iyi bir topluma ve daha temiz bir çevreye gönüllü olarak katkıda bulunmasını içerir. İş dünyasının topluma duyduğu endişenin kanıtlarını yüzyıllar boyunca izlemek mümkündür. Kurumsal sosyal sorumluluğun geçmişi 1800’lü yıllara kadar uzanabilse de, ilk resmi katkılar 1950’lerden itibaren yapılmaya başlanmıştır. Kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk, işletmelerin olumlu etkilerini en üst düzeye çıkarırken, faaliyetlerinin toplum üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerini en aza indirmesini sağlayan bir dizi yönetim uygulaması olarak tanımlanabilir. Her ne kadar kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk kavramı teori ve pratikte geniş olarak tartışılsa da evrensel olarak kabul edilen tek bir tanımı bulunmamaktadır. Bu makale, kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk, tanımları, tarihi, teorileri, boyutları ve avantajlarıyla ilgili geniş bir teorik çerçeve oluşturmayı amaçlamaktadır.

Corporate Social Responsibility: A Theoretical Framework on Its Definitions, History, Theories, Dimensions and Advantages

Öz

Today, individual businesses look beyond their traditional profit making goals, rethink their impact on society and the environment, and seek ways to develop positive and sustainable relationships with stakeholders. Corporate social responsibility is a concept where businesses voluntarily integrate their social and environmental concerns into their business activities and interactions with their stakeholders, and it mainly involves voluntary contribution of businesses to a better society and a cleaner environment. It is possible to monitor the evidence of the business community’s concerns about society for centuries. Although the history of corporate social responsibility can go back to the 1800s, the first official contributions started to be made in the 1950s. Corporate social responsibility can be defined as a series of management practices that enable businesses to minimize the negative impact of their operations on society while maximizing their positive impact. Although the concept of corporate social responsibility is widely discussed in theory and practice, it does not have a universally accepted definition. This article aims to create a broad theoretical framework on corporate social responsibility, its definitions, history, theories, dimensions, and advantages.
