İKİNCİ/YABANCI DİL OLARAK TÜRKÇE DERS KİTAPLARINDA KÜLTÜREL İÇERİKLERİN SUNUMU

Öz

Dil öğretiminin temel sorunsallarından biri de kültür konusudur. İkinci/yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılan ders kitapları, kültürel bilginin hedef kitleye sunumunda önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. İkinci/yabancı dil öğretiminde; materyallerden öğretim programına, öğretici yeterliliklerinden sınıf ortamına kadar kültürel içeriklerin yeri, sunumu, oranı, sırası, temsil yeterliliği vb. konular üzerinde tartışmalar mevcuttur. Gerek ikinci/yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretimi ders kitaplarındaki kültürel içeriğin sunumunda, gerekse söz konusu ders kitapları üzerine yapılan araştırmalarda ise bir ölçütsüzlüğün olduğu söylenebilir. Bu çalışmada, ikinci/yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılan Gazi Üniversitesi Yabancılar İçin Türkçe seti ile Yedi İklim Yabancılar İçin Türkçe setindeki okuma metinlerini belirli ölçütlere göre kültürel içeriklerin sunumu bakımından karşılaştırılmıştır. İçerik analizi yönteminin kullanıldığı çalışmada, incelenen ders kitaplarında sunulan kültürel içeriklerin temsil oranını ve temalara göre oransal dağılımını incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Veriler, tek kültürlü ve çok kültürlü ikinci/yabancı dil öğrenme ortamlarına duyarlı Kültürel İçerik Analizi İçin Kontrol Listesi ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, frekans tabloları ve yüzdelik oranlarla karşılaştırılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, her iki sette de kültürel içeriklerin düzeylere göre aşırı dengesiz bir dağılım sergilediği; her iki setin kendi içerisinde düzeyden düzeye gerek kültürel temaların gerekse kültürel içeriklerin sunumunda aşırı farklılıklar olduğu ve setler arasında yabancı dil ikinci dil öğrenimi/öğretimi bağlamında çok büyük farklılıklar olmadığı tespit edilmiştir.

Presentating Cultural Content in Turkish as a Second/Foreign Coursebooks

Öz

The role of culture has become an important topic of discussion in language teaching. Thus, coursebooks used in teaching Turkish as a second/foreign language play an important role in the presentation of cultural information to the target audience. With regard to second/foreign language teaching, there are ongoing discussions on the adequacy of cultural content representation on issues ranging from the used materials to the learning programs; the qualification of teachers, to the classroom; the place, the presentation, the ratio, the sequence of cultural content. There lack of criteria both for the presentation of cultural content in Turkish as a second/foreign language teaching and for the research on these textbooks, however, are common topoi. This paper compared the reading texts in Gazi Üniversitesi Yabancılar İçin Türkçe series and Yedi İklim Yabancılar İçin Türkçe series in teaching Turkish as a second/foreign language in terms of the presentation of cultural content according to certain criteria. Using the content analysis method, the paper aimed to examine the representation rate of cultural contents presented in the examined textbooks and their proportional distribution according to themes. The data were collected using the Checklist for Cultural Content Analysis sensitive to monocultural and multicultural foreign/second language learning environments. Results analyzed by comparing frequency tables and percentages came to the conclusions that there was an extremely unbalanced distribution of cultural contents in both series according to the proficiency levels; there were significant differences in the presentation of both cultural themes and cultural contents across levels within both series; and that there were no major differences between the series in the context of teaching and learning a second/foreign language.

PRÉSENTATION DES CONTENUS CULTURELS DANS LES MANUELS DE TURC COMME DEUXIÈME LANGUE/ LANGUE ÉTRANGÈRE

Öz

L'un des principaux problèmes de l'enseignement des langues est la question de la culture. Dans l'enseignement des langues étrangères/secondes, il y a des débats sur la place et la présentation des contenus culturels, du matériel au programme, des compétences de l'instructeur à l'environnement de la salle de classe. Lorsque l'on examine la littérature sur le sujet, on constate que les discussions s'articulent essentiellement autour des questions suivantes : Qu'est-ce que la culture dans le contexte de l'enseignement des langues ? Quelle culture ? Quelle culture ? Comment la culture de l'apprenant interagit-elle avec la culture de la langue cible ? Quelle est la place et la proportion des contenus culturels dans les supports de cours ? Les manuels utilisés dans l'enseignement du turc comme langue étrangère/seconde jouent un rôle important dans la transmission d'informations culturelles au public d'apprenants. On peut dire qu'il y a un manque de critères à la fois dans la présentation du contenu culturel dans les manuels et dans la recherche sur les manuels. Dans cette étude, le manuel de turc pour étrangers de l'université de Gazi et le manuel de turc pour étrangers de Yedi İklim utilisés pour l'enseignement du turc comme langue étrangère/seconde ont été comparés en termes de présentation du contenu culturel sur la base de textes de lecture. L'étude, dans laquelle la méthode d'analyse des documents a été utilisée, visait à évaluer le taux de représentation des contenus culturels présentés dans les manuels examinés et leur répartition proportionnelle en fonction des thèmes. La comparaison a été basée sur la liste de contrôle pour l'analyse du contenu culturel développée par Akkoyunlu (2019), qui est sensible aux environnements monoculturels et multiculturels d'apprentissage des langues étrangères/secondes. Les données obtenues ont été analysées en les exprimant sous forme de tableaux de fréquence et de pourcentages. À l'issue de la recherche, il a été constaté qu'il y avait une distribution extrêmement déséquilibrée des contenus culturels dans les deux ensembles en fonction des niveaux ; il y avait des différences extrêmes dans la présentation à la fois des thèmes culturels et des contenus culturels d'un niveau à l'autre dans les deux ensembles, et il n'y avait pas de différences majeures entre les ensembles en termes d'apprentissage/enseignement de la langue étrangère/seconde.

DARSTELLUNG KULTURELLER INHALTE IN LEHRBÜCHERN FÜR TÜRKISCH ALS ZWEIT-/FREMDSPRACHE

Öz

Eines der Hauptprobleme des Sprachunterrichts ist die Frage der Kultur. Im Fremd-/Zweitsprachenunterricht gibt es Debatten über den Stellenwert und die Präsentation kultureller Inhalte, von den Materialien bis zum Lehrplan, von den Kompetenzen der Lehrkräfte bis zur Unterrichtsumgebung. Bei der Durchsicht der Literatur zu diesem Thema zeigt sich, dass sich die Diskussionen im Wesentlichen um die folgenden Fragen drehen: Was ist Kultur im Kontext des Sprachunterrichts? Welche Kultur? Wessen Kultur? Wie interagiert die Kultur des Lernenden mit der Kultur der Zielsprache? Welchen Platz und welchen Anteil haben kulturelle Inhalte in den Unterrichtsmaterialien? Lehrbücher, die für den Unterricht von Türkisch als Fremd-/Zweitsprache verwendet werden, spielen eine wichtige Rolle bei der Vermittlung von kulturellen Informationen an die Lernenden. Es kann festgestellt werden, dass es sowohl an Kriterien für die Darstellung kultureller Inhalte in Lehrbüchern als auch für die Forschung über Lehrbücher mangelt. In dieser Studie wurden die Lehrwerke "Türkisch für Ausländer" der Gazi-Universität und "Türkisch für Ausländer" von Yedi İklim, die für den Unterricht von Türkisch als Fremd-/Zweitsprache verwendet werden, im Hinblick auf die Darstellung kultureller Inhalte anhand von Lesetexten verglichen. Ziel der Studie, bei der die Methode der Dokumentenanalyse angewandt wurde, war es, den Anteil der Darstellung kultureller Inhalte in den untersuchten Lehrbüchern und ihre proportionale Verteilung auf die Themen zu bewerten. Der Vergleich basierte auf der von Akkoyunlu (2019) entwickelten Checkliste für die Analyse kultureller Inhalte, die für monokulturelle und multikulturelle Lernumgebungen von Fremd-/Zweitsprachen geeignet ist. Die gewonnenen Daten wurden analysiert, indem sie in Häufigkeitstabellen und Prozentsätzen ausgedrückt wurden. Als Ergebnis der Untersuchung wurde festgestellt, dass es eine extrem unausgewogene Verteilung der kulturellen Inhalte in beiden Sets entsprechend der Niveaus gab; es gab extreme Unterschiede in der Präsentation sowohl kultureller Themen als auch kultureller Inhalte von Niveau zu Niveau innerhalb beider Sets, und es gab keine großen Unterschiede zwischen den Sets in Bezug auf das Fremdsprachenlernen/Zweitsprachenlehren.
