Hindistan’da Yenilenebilir Enerji Tüketimi ile Ekonomik Büyüme Arasındaki İlişki: ARDL Sınır Testi Yaklaşımı

Öz

Yenilenebilir enerji tüketiminin ekonomik büyüme ile ilişkisi özellikle son zamanlarda dikkat çeken bir konu haline gelmiştir. Fosil yakıtların küresel ısınma ve sera gazı emisyonlarını artırması daha çevre dostu olan yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarının önemini artırmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada Hindistan’da yenilenebilir enerji tüketimi ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkiyi tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Hindistan’ın 1990-2015 dönemi gayri safi yurtiçi hasıla, yenilenebilir enerji tüketimi, sabit sermaye oluşumu ve iş gücü verileri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada ilk olarak birim kök testleri ile serilerin durağanlıkları sınanmıştır. Daha sonra ARDL Sınır Testi ile eşbütünleşme ve katsayı tahminleri yapılmıştır. Son olarak VECM Nedensellik Testi ile değişkenler arasındaki ilişki uzun ve kısa dönemde tespit edilmiştir. Sonuçlar kısa dönemde yenilenebilir enerji ile ekonomik büyüme arasında yansızlık hipotezinin geçerli olduğunu göstermektedir. Uzun dönemde ise geribildirim hipotezinin geçerli olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Dolayısıyla Hindistan’da yenilenebilir enerji tüketimine yönelik politika kararlarının, uzun dönemde ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki geri bildirim etkisi dikkate alınarak belirlenmesi gerektiği düşünülmektedir.
