Objective of the study: The aim of this study is to analyze the personality profiles of young female employees regarding their Individualism-Collectivism traits.

Design and Methodolgy: Participants were 264 single young female employees (mean age= 22.63 years, SD=1.85, range 22-27 years). All participants completed Five Factor Personality Inventory and INDividualism-COLlectivism Scale (INDCOL). INDCOL has four sub-dimensions, vertical individualism, vertical collectivism, horizontal individualism and horizontal collectivism. The average scores of the sub-dimensions were calculated and divided into two subgroups according to their total averages scores (below and above average scores). All these subgroups’ sub-dimension total scores and five factor total scores were compared with MANOVA.

Findings: As a result of this study, significant differences observed between subgroups of INDCOL scores, five factors (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional Instability / Neuroticism, Openness to Experience) and all sub-dimensions (Liveliness, Assertiveness, Tolerance, Agreement, Reconciliation, Soft Heartedness / Alturism, Orderliness, Rule Boundness / Compliance With the Rules, Responsibility / Deliberateness, Excitement Seeking, Emotional Lability, Proneness to Anxiety, Self Assureness, Analytical Thinking, Sensitivity, Openness to Newness) of Five Factor Personality Inventory, except ‘Calmness’ and ‘Interaction’ facets.

Originality: Findings indicate that, INDCOL traits have effects on job performance related to personality traits.

https://doi.org/10.25203/idd.300765
