Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanında, “turizm endüstrisi”, “eğitim” ve “kariyer” terimleri kullanılarak 04.02.2025 tarihinde yapılan taramada 397 adet yayın incelenmiştir.

The tourism sector significantly contributes to national economies by providing jobs for millions of people worldwide. The link between tourism education and the tourism sector requires continuous alignment between the dynamics and needs of the sector and the content and practices of education. The sector offers tourism education at various levels to train a qualified workforce to meet its needs. As the tourism sector is shaped by factors such as rapidly changing global conditions, technology, customer expectations, and sustainability, education programmes must adapt to these changes. Therefore, education in tourism is a critical element for those who wish to pursue a professional career in the industry. This study analyzes studies on tourism education and careers in the literature. This study employed bibliometric methods. In the Web of Science (WoS) database, 397 publications were analyzed using the terms “tourism industry,” “education,” and “career” on 04.02.2025. Using Web of Science Analysis, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix applications to perform bibliometric analysis and create graphs, the most influential, most published, and most cited authors; study topics; the development of topics over the years; the degree of cooperation between countries; and the network graphs of the keywords used were evaluated, gaps in the literature were identified, and suggestions for future studies were presented. As a result of this study, it was determined that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant developments in the tourism sector, and these developments have created a major transformation in tourism education, the tourism sector, and academic studies.
