This study was conducted to investigate management information systems applied in special provincial administrations, in the case of the Ankara Special Provincial Administration, in accordance with the opinion of the employees. Six directors and 24 employees, for a total of 30 people, who participated voluntarily in the study out of 304 officers, worked in the Ankara Special Provincial Administration, constituted the sample of this study. The data collection tool consisted of the five open-ended questions regarding the opinions of the employees on the management information system. To analyze the data, of the qualitative research methods, the content analysis technique was used. The findings of the study revealed that from the management information systems in Ankara Special Provincial Administration, the e-government applications of the Ministry of Interior, and the e-government applications not in the Ministry of Interior were used; however, the level of benefit was not sufficient according to the employees. Various problems were experienced, particularly in the operation of the management information systems; they were access sourced and were identified as an obstacle to the healthy functioning of the system. To take advantage of management information systems in Ankara Special Provincial Administration at a high-level, the employees made several recommendations, such as employee training, the employment of qualified personnel, as well as simplifying of the use of the program
