Infectious diseases are dynamically dependent on the interaction between the population and the current regional climate. Therefore, global warming could cause a significant shift in the spectrum of infectious diseases. Rising sea levels, food shortages and the threat of famine, changes in global precipitation patterns, changes in animal and plant populations, which are the consequences of global warming, are moving towards a life-threatening process with significant consequences over time. Since it is predicted that global warming will have important effects on infectious diseases, research on vector-borne diseases, food and water-borne diseases, and bacterial, viral and fungal infections are increasing. In this review, the effect of global warming on possible infectious diseases is discussed.
