The banking sector is one of the most influential institutions in the growth and development of countries in terms of the role they play in bringing savings to the economy and mobilizing capital. In this way, the banking sector makes an important contribution to ensuring financial stability. The banking sector in Turkey has shown a tremendous growth in last 15-20 years. In this growth, loans extended as the main asset of banks are of great importance. The historical analysis of whether loans include regional differences will help decision makers and policy makers to give more consistent and effective decisions for the future. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the similarities of used bank credits in Turkey's 81 provinces which indicate provincial financial development and determining whether there is a regional agglomeration. Provinces in Turkey were classified according to the level of banks' loan disbursement in line with data obtained from the Banks Association of Turkey. The variables used in the study consist of Non-Required Loans, Other loans, Real Estate, Professional, Agricultural and Tourism loans. In the study, K-Means method that is one of the cluster analysis methods was used. Cluster analysis was carried out for five-year periods between 1988 and 2018. As a result of the study, it has been determined that there are no regional differences in the use of credit, and although there is a certain relationship between socio-economic development and population density and credit use levels, there is not a clear formation of this process.
