A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO INTEGRATING DUAL RF MODULES AND A SINGLE CRYPTOGRAPHIC CORE IN DUAL-PURPOSE RADIOS

Öz

The study develops and substantiates a comprehensive approach to integrating dual radio-frequency (RF) modules with a single cryptographic core in dual-purpose radios. Modern combat environments, characterized by high interference, active electronic warfare, and advanced interception threats, demand architectures that go beyond traditional single-transceiver designs. The proposed solution employs two independent transceivers operating in parallel, coordinated through a unified control system and protected by a centralized cryptographic module. This configuration enables simultaneous voice and data transmission, spectrum scanning, and backup channel operation, significantly enhancing communication resilience. A single cryptographic core reduces hardware complexity, power consumption, and cost while ensuring centralized key management and long-term protection against emerging post-quantum threats. The research methodology combines mathematical modeling, prototyping, and experimental validation, focusing on bandwidth efficiency, electromagnetic compatibility, encryption delay, and energy balance. Results confirm that the dual-transceiver architecture improves survivability, supports multi-service operation, and aligns with NATO standards for network-centric operations. The findings provide a foundation for the development of next-generation secure, adaptive, and resource-efficient communication systems.
