Multiple job holding or holding an additional job besides the main job is a method that many individuals apply for career development or psychological satisfaction as well as dealing with financial difficulties. In this study, the determinants of multiple job holding in Turkish labor market are estimated using micro data from Labor Force Statistics for 2014-2018, by means of a probit model. Financial requirements are the main determinants of holding a secondary job. Employees with low income in their main job and with higher financial responsibilities (such as married people) hold multiple jobs. Additional jobs also serve as an insurance against income fluctuations. Employees who do not work in a paid position and those who work in a temporary job reduce the risk of falling income or unemployment by working in an additional job.
