Management Discipline and Renewable Energy: A Bibliometric View of Scientific Trends

When scrutinizing contemporary literature within the realm of management studies, it becomes apparent that, alongside social and economic concerns, environmental matters such as the climate emergency, ecological conservation, sustainable progress, and renewable energy have emerged as significant areas of inquiry. In this regard, the judicious utilization of environmental resources, initiatives aimed at addressing climate change, and energy requirements have rendered solutions pertaining to renewable energy essential within the strategic decision-making framework of managers. This research endeavors to elucidate the trends, partnerships, and advancements in the domain of renewable energy within the management discipline from 2014 to 2024 (January) through the application of bibliometric methodologies. In the study, data obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database were used, and the analysis was conducted using the R software with the Biblioshiny package.The investigation assessed citation counts, author collaborations, inter-country partnerships, journal impact factors, the volume of scholarly contributions, and their annual distribution for articles published from 2014 to 2024. According to the findings, a significant increase in publications related to renewable energy has been observed over the years, with interdisciplinary collaborations and international partnerships coming to the forefront. This research aspires to comprehend the perspective of management science regarding environmental challenges and to enrich forthcoming inquiries into renewable energy.

Yönetim Disiplini ve Yenilenebilir Enerji: Bilimsel Eğilimlere Bibliometrik Bir Bakış

Öz

Günümüzde yönetim disiplini ile ilgili çalışmalar incelendiğinde sosyal ve ekonomik konuların yanı sıra iklim krizi, çevresel koruma, sürdürülebilir kalkınma ve yenilenebilir enerji gibi çevresel konuların da araştırılan önemli konular haline geldiği görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda, çevresel kaynakların verimli kullanımı, iklim değişikliğiyle mücadele ve artan enerji ihtiyacı gibi konular, yöneticilerin stratejik karar alma süreçlerinde yenilenebilir enerjiye yönelik çözümleri kaçınılmaz hale getirmiştir. Bu çalışma, yönetim disiplininde yer alan yenilenebilir enerji konusunun 2014-2024 (Ocak) yılları arasındaki eğilimlerini, işbirliklerini ve gelişimini bibliyometrik yöntemler kullanarak açıklamayı amaçlamıştır. Araştırmada Web of Science Core Collection veri tabanından elde edilen veriler kullanılmış ve analiz sürecinde R programı ile Biblioshiny paketi tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmada 2014-2024 (Ocak) yılları arasında yapılmış olan makalelerin atıf sayıları, yazarlar arasındaki işbirlikleri, ülke işbirlikleri, dergi faktörleri, akademik yayınların sayıları ve yıllara göre dağılımları değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, yenilenebilir enerji konusuna ilişkin yayınlarda yıllar içerisinde belirgin bir artış gözlemlenmiş, özellikle disiplinler arası işbirliklerinin ve uluslararası ortaklıkların öne çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma yönetim biliminin çevresel sorunlara yaklaşımını anlamaya ve yenilenebilir enerji konusu ile yapılacak çalışmalara kurumsal ve uygulamalı düzeyde katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır.
