The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of parental attitudes in the relationship between school engagement and feelings of anti-mattering in adolescents. Within this context, the study analyzes the direction of the relationship between adolescents’ school engagement and feelings of anti-mattering, as well as how different family conditions affect this relationship. A descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was employed. The sample consisted of 403 high school students from Konya, of whom 281 were female (70%) and 122 were male (30%). Data were collected using the Personal Information Form, the Anti-mattering Scale, the School Engagement Scale, and the Desired Parental Attitude Scale. The data obtained from the research were analyzed using the SPSS program. After checking whether the data showed a normal distribution, correlation and regression analyses were performed. The results indicated that the relationship between adolescents’ school engagement and feelings of anti-mattering is significant, with parental attitudes acting as a mediating variable.
