Sustainable Behaviors at Work: Investigating the Predictive Role of Job Satisfaction on Green Organizational Behavior Among White-Collar Employees

Öz

The study’s core purpose is to investigate the predictive role of job satisfaction on the green organizational behavior of white-collar employees. In this research, quantitative research method was employed. The research was conducted using a quantitative research method. Accordingly, the survey technique was chosen to obtain the research data. The data of the study were obtained from a total of 322 employees working in various sectors in Istanbul. The data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Job Satisfaction Scale, and the Green Organizational Behavior Scale. A normality test, reliability test, descriptive statistical analyses, and simple regression analysis were applied to the data. The outcomes of the analysis demonstrated that the job satisfaction levels of white-collar employees significantly and positively predicted their green organizational behavior levels. The results revealed that a satisfactory work environment is essential for promoting sustainable practices. The research advances the literature by providing by emphasizing the importance of human resource factors in supporting sustainability, and the findings reveal that organizations aiming to promote environmentally responsible behaviors should also prioritize employees’ job satisfaction.
