Yaşlanmayla İlişkili Ürolojik Sorunların Yönetimi ve Hemşirelik Bakımı

Öz

Ülkemiz nüfusunun genç nüfustan yaşlı nüfusa doğru kayması beraberinde çeşitli sağlık sorunlarını da getirmektedir. Yaşlılığa bağlı görülen ürolojik sorunlar hem yaşlanmayla ilişkili fizyolojik değişimler hem de hastalıklara bağlı olarak ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Aynı zamanda yaşlılıkla birlikte komorbid hastalıklardaki artış da ürolojik semptomların sıklığını arttırmaktadır. Diğer yandan kronik hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanılan çeşitli ilaçların etkisi/ yan etkisi olarak da ürolojik semptomlar görülmektedir. Ürolojik sorunlar yaşlı bireyi sadece fizyolojik açıdan değil psikososyal olarak da etkilemektedir. Yaşlılık döneminde en çok karşılaşılan ürolojik sorunlar; üriner inkontinans, üriner enfeksiyon, cinsel işlev bozukluğu ve prostatla ilgili sorunlardır. Tüm bu sorunlar yaşam kalitesini de olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir. Bu konu ile ilişkili literatür incelendiğinde geriatrik üroloji alanındaki çalışmaların yetersiz olduğu görülmektedir. Bu gereksinim doğrultusunda yazılan derleme makalesinin amacı yaşlılıkta ortaya çıkan ürolojik sorunların yaşlı bireyin yaşamı üzerine olan etkilerini ve bu ürolojik sorunların yönetiminde hemşirelik bakımını ortaya koymaktır.

Management and Nursing Care of Urological Problems Associated with Elderly

The shift of the population of our country from the young population to the elderly population brings along various health problems. Urological problems associated with aging can occur due to both physiological changes related to aging and diseases. At the same time, the increase in comorbid diseases with aging increases the frequency of urological symptoms. On the other hand, urological symptoms are seen as the effects/side effect of various drugs used in the treatment of chronic diseases. Urological problems affect the elderly not only physiologically but also psychosocially. The most common urological problems in old age are urinary incontinence, urinary infection, sexual dysfunction, and problems with the prostate. All these problems also negatively affect the quality of life. When the nursing literature on this subject is examined, it is seen that the studies in the field of geriatric urology are insufficient. The aim of the review article written in line with this requirement is to reveal the urological problems that occur in old age, their effects on the life of the elderly, and the management of these urological problems.
