The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of technology on tourism in popular pullman car tourism destinations, and to create a conceptual framework for the definitions of “Smart City, Smart Tourism and Smart Tourism Destination” that enter the city and tourism literature with technology. In the empirical dimension of the study, panel data analysis was used to test the hypothesis that technology positively affected the number of tourists, and robust fixed effects regression was estimated with Driscoll-Kraay standard errors. The analysis was made with the data of 2004-2018 in popular pullman car tourism destinations. As a result of the analysis, it is revealed that the relationship between the number of tourists in the destinations within the scope of the research and the technology is significant and positive. With the adaptation of the tourism sector to developing technology, especially the use of internet and social media, significant changes have been experienced both in the conceptual dimension and in the application dimension. With this study, the interest in popular pullman car trips and the related contribution to tourism in eastern cities with the effect of technology have been demonstrated empirically.
