MANAGEMENT OF DENTAL ANXIETY IN CHILDREN

Öz

Anxiety is a complex emotional state characterized by physical and psychological symptoms. Nowadays, anxiety has become a more frequently discussed topic due to increased awareness and widespread diagnostic methods. Dentists often have to cope with dental anxiety in their professional lives. Dental anxiety can lead to problems such as treatment avoidance and complications in the treatment process, especially in pediatric patients. This situation can result in prolonged treatment times, increased complexity of procedures, and even higher costs for dentists. Moreover, avoiding dental treatment due to anxiety can further deteriorate the patient's oral health, requiring more challenging and costly interventions. For this reason, it is critically important for dentists to assess their patients' anxiety levels and implement appropriate intervention methods to ensure a successful dental treatment process.

Çocuklarda Dental Anksiyete Yönetimi

Öz

Anksiyete, fiziksel ve psikolojik belirtilerle kendini gösteren karmaşık bir duygusal durumdur. Günümüzde anksiyete, artan farkındalık ve yaygınlaşan tanı yöntemleriyle daha sık tartışılan bir konu haline gelmiştir. Diş hekimleri, meslek yaşamlarında sıklıkla dental anksiyete ile mücadele etmek zorunda kalmaktadır. Dental anksiyete, çocuk hastalarda tedaviden kaçınma ve tedavi sürecini zorlaştırma gibi problemlere neden olabilir. Bu durum, diş hekimleri için tedavi sürelerinin uzamasına, tedavinin karmaşıklaşmasına ve hatta maliyetlerin artmasına yol açabilir. Dahası, dental anksiyete nedeniyle tedaviden kaçınılması, hastaların oral sağlık durumunun daha da kötüleşmesine neden olabilir. Bu nedenle, diş hekimlerinin hastalarının anksiyete düzeylerini değerlendirmesi ve uygun müdahale yöntemlerini kullanması, başarılı bir dental tedavi süreci açısından kritik bir öneme sahiptir.
