THE VIEWS OF THE TEACHERS TOWARDS THE TEACHER LEADERSHIP

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the views of the teachers towards the teacher leadership and to give suggestions. Phenomenology, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the study and the study group of the research was selected by the easily accessible case sampling method. Research data was obtained via semi-structured interview form from 21 teachers working in different branches in İstanbul province in 2015-2016 academic year. The interviews were executed by face to face. In the content analysis, “teacher leaders’ features”, “roles expected from teacher leaders”, “benefits of teacher leadership”, “problems in the expansion of teacher leadership and solution proposals for these problems” and “features of schools that support teacher leadership” themes were reached.

ÖĞRETMENLERİN ÖĞRETMEN LİDERLİĞİNE YÖNELİK GÖRÜŞLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmenlerin öğretmen liderliğine yönelik görüşlerini incelemek ve bu doğrultuda öneriler geliştirmektir. Nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgubilim deseninde tasarlanmış olan araştırmanın çalışma grubu kolay ulaşılabilir durum yöntemiyle seçilmiştir. Çalışma grubu 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılında İstanbul ilindeki ilkokullarda ve ortaokullarda görev yapmakta olan farklı branşlardaki 21 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla öğretmenler ile yapılan yüz yüze görüşmelerden elde edilmiştir. Yapılan içerik analizi sonucunda “öğretmen liderlerin özellikleri”, “öğretmen liderlerden beklenen roller”, “öğretmen liderliğinin yararları”, “öğretmen liderliğinin yaygınlaşmasındaki sorunlar ve çözüm önerileri” ile “öğretmen liderliğini destekleyen okulların özellikleri” temalarına ulaşılmıştır.
