EFFECTS OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION BEHAVIORS OF SPORTS SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Abstract
In this study, the effect of sports on middle school students on conflict resolution behaviors was examined. The study group of the study conducted in accordance with the survey model, consists of totally 298 students sportsman 150 (nmale=75, nfemale =75) and non-sports 148 (nmale=75, nfemale=73) in the first half of the 2016-2017 academic year, students who attended Konya Provincial National Education. While the sporting group actively creates students who continue to different sports branches, the non-sports group formed students who read in different classes of the same school and did not actively work in a branch. In the research, "Conflict Resolution Behavior Determination Scale" developed by Koruklu (1998) was used to determine students' conflict resolution behaviors. Independent group t test was used for binary cluster comparisons and one way ANOVA was used for three or more cluster comparisons since the data showed normal distribution. Tukey HSD multiple comparison test was used because of the homogeneity of the variances to determine the source of significant differences found in the ANOVA outcome. The level of significance in the study was taken as 0.05. As a result of the research; sporting variables did not cause a significant difference in aggression dimension as conflict resolution behavior, Problem-solving dimension, it was found that they caused a meaningful difference in favor of sportsmen. The mean score of the aggressiveness of the sporting students differed significantly according to the gender variable and This difference is in favor of male students; It was determined that the average score of the problem solving dimension did not differ significantly according to the gender variable. The average scores of aggression of students who do not do sports do not differ significantly according to the gender variable; the mean scores of the problem solving dimensions differed significantly according to the gender variable and this difference was found to be in favor of female students. It was determined that the average scores of aggression and problem solving scores of students who did both sports and non-sports differed significantly according to age.
