Study was planned in general screening model to
determine eating attitudes of students according to education at various
departments of Vocational School Health Services, factors that affect these
attitudes. Universe is 1355 students in a university’s Vocational School Health
Services that is in north of Central Anatolia, Turkey. Random sampling method
was used. 600 volunteer students participated. "Personal Information
Form", Eating Attitude Test (YTT-40) were used as data collection tools.
Socio-demographic characteristics were given as frequency tables, Independent
Sample t Test, One-Way Anova, Bonferroni Test were used in analysis of data.
According to results of study, mean age of participants was 19.84±1.66 years.
Mean body weight, height, body mass index measurements of participants were
59.68±10.49 kg, 165.48±7.7 cm, 21.75±3.2 k /m2, respectively. Average score of
scale was 60.32±22.1. In obesity anxiety sub-dimension, it was found that
gender variable (p<0.001) differed in favor of women, according to height
(p<0.05), body weight (p<0.001). Dietary subscale of scale was found to
differ according to mother's education level (p<0.05), body weight
(p<0.001). Social pressure subscale of scale differed in terms of body
weight (p<0.001), sub-dimension of over-dealing with weakness differed in
favor of 1st grade students (p<0.01), weight (p<0.001) according to class
variable studied.
