This study aims to examine the concept of doomscrolling, one of the prominent phenomena of the digital age, from an organizational behavior perspective and to identify scholarly trends in this field through a bibliometric analysis. The data were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection by conducting a search in the Topic field (title, abstract, author keywords, and Keyword Plus) using the term “doomscrolling.” The technical search yielded a total of 145 records published between 1977 and 2025; however, considering the period in which the concept became terminologically established in the literature, bibliometric network analyses and thematic examinations were limited to 66 studies published between 2020 and 2025. Using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix software, keyword co-occurrence networks, co-citation structures, and author and country collaboration patterns were analyzed. The findings indicate that the concept of doomscrolling has expanded rapidly, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic, and has evolved into an interdisciplinary research domain encompassing psychology, communication, information science, and management. The results further suggest that doomscrolling not only generates psychological effects at the individual level but also represents a behavioral pattern related to digital attention management, knowledge sharing, and employee well-being within organizational contexts. In this respect, the study seeks to build a conceptual bridge between the digital behavior literature and the field of organizational behavior.

Doomscrolling (felaket kaydırması) literatürünün bibliyometrik analizi: Örgütsel davranış açısından bir konumlandırma

Öz

Bu çalışma, dijital çağın öne çıkan olgularından biri olan doomscrolling (felaket kaydırması) kavramını örgütsel davranış perspektifinden ele alarak, bu alandaki bilimsel yönelimleri bibliyometrik analiz yoluyla ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmanın verileri, Web of Science Core Collection veri tabanında Topic (başlık, özet, yazar anahtar kelimeleri ve Keyword Plus) alanında “doomscrolling” terimi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen tarama sonucunda elde edilmiştir.
