Öz

Bu araştırmanın konusu, tarihî bir şahsiyet olarak Hz. Muhammed’in (sas) eşi Safiyye’dir. Araştırmanın amacı, Safiyye’nin hayatı, şahsiyeti, bir hanım olarak döneminin sosyal hayattaki konumunu tespit edip incelemektir. Bu bağlamda, Safiyye’nin Hz. Peygamber’in aile hayatındaki yeri, eşleriyle münasebetleri ve ilmî kişiliği ele alınmıştır. Safiyye, Hz. Peygamber’in azılı düşmanlarından, Yahudilerin lideri Huyey b. Ahtab’ın kızıdır. Babası, Hz. Peygamber’in müjdelenen son peygamber olduğuna kanaat getirdiği halde inkârı onu iman etmekten alıkoymuştur. Hayber’in fethinde esir edilmiş; Hz. Peygamber onu İslâm’ı seçme konusunda serbest bırakmıştır. İslâm’ı seçen Safiyye, Hz. Peygamber’in evlenme teklifini kabul ederek “Müminlerin Annesi” vasfını kazanmıştır. Hz. Peygamber’in vefatından sonra kendi halinde, ilim ve ibadetle meşgul olan Safiyye, 60 yaşında vefat etmiş ve Bakî‘ Mezarlığı’na defnedilmiştir. Hz. Peygamber’den on hadis rivayet etmiştir. Akıllı, ilim ve fazilet sahibi, ibadete düşkün, yumuşak huylu, yardımsever ve cömert bir kadın olan Safiyye, bir kısmını saydığımız özellikleri ve Resûlullah’a ileri derecedeki sevgisi sebebiyle İslâm tarihindeki yerini almıştır.

The Life and Character of Honorable Safiyyah, the Wife of the Prophet Muhammad

The subject of this study is Honorable Safiyyah, wife of the Prophet, as a historical figure. The purpose is to study the life of Honorable Safiyyah, character and her position in the social life. In this regard, Honorable Safiyyah’s relationship in the family and with her relationship with the other wives, and her scholarly character have been studied. Safiyyah was the daughter of Huyay b. Ahtab, the leader of Jews and enemy of the Prophet. Even though Huyay was knowing that he was the prophet of God, his ignorance prevented him to believe in him. After having captured as a slave after the Conquest of Khaybar, the Prophet let her free to choose Islam or not, then she chose to Islam, then accepted the marriage proposal of the Prophet and he married with her, so she became the mother of the believers. After the life of the prophet, she lived a quiet life and was busy with studying of Islam and religious duties. She died at the age 60 and buried “Baqi Grave”. The Honorable Safiyyah reported 10 hadiths from the Prophet. She was intelligent, has good character, worship loving, helping hand and a generous one. These are some features of her. Because of her deep love of the Prophet, she took a special place in the History of Islam.
