Öz

Gazeteler, kitle haberleşme vasıtaları olmalarının yanı sıra, kitleleri bilgilendirme, bilinçlendirme ve yönlendirme rolleri bağlamında birer kamuoyu oluşturma ve propaganda amaçlı bilginin manipüle edilebilmesine de zemin hazırlayan güçlü birer araçtır. Bu nedenle bahse konu olan yayın organının gerçekliği resmetme ve okura sunma biçimi, ulusal ve uluslararası boyutta kitleleri konsolide edebilecek ve politik refleks geliştirmelerine neden olabilecek bir güç olarak temayüz edebilmektedir. Amaç: Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’den Sabah ve Sözcü gazeteleri ile Doğu Akdeniz Enerji havzasında aktif rol almak isteyen ülkelerin yazılı basınına ait öncü gazetelerden örneklem alınmış, “Doğu Akdeniz Enerji Kaynakları” içerikli haber başlıkları ve kısa özetleri üzerine duygu analizi ile söylem çözümlemesi yapılarak bölgesel ve küresel boyutta spesifik ve stratejik bir konunun ne tür “kavramlar” ekseninde ele alınarak kitlelere reel ya da dezenformatif bir şekilde sunulduğunun söylem bazlı tespitini yapmak amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Bu doğrultuda duygu analizi açısından haber başlıkları ve kısa özetlerinin sınıflandırılmasında “R Dili” programlama aracı kullanılmış ve söylem içeriklerinin ne tür bir duyguya karşılık geldiği tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bulgular: Analiz neticesinde Türkiye ve yabancı basında yer alan “pozitif” sözcüklerin, “negatif sözcüklere oranla baskın oldukları müşahede edilmiştir. Özgünlük: Bu çalışmanın en büyük özgünlüğü hem ekonomik hem de siyasi açıdan önem arz eden Doğu Akdeniz bölgesindeki enerji kaynaklarına yönelik orijinal bir yöntemle analiz yapılmasıdır.

EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN ENERGY RESOURCES AXIS: A COMPARATIVE EMOTION ANALYSIS OF NEWS HEADLINES IN TURKEY, EUROPE AND USA

Öz

Newspapers, in addition to being mass media, are also powerful tools that prepare the ground for the manipulation of information for public opinion and propaganda purposes in the context of their role of informing, raising awareness and directing the masses. For this reason, the way the media organ in question portrays reality and presents it to the reader can be seen as a force that can consolidate the masses at the national and international level and cause them to develop political reflexes. Purpose: In this study, samples were taken from Sabah and Sözcü newspapers from Turkey and the leading newspapers of the countries that want to take an active role in the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Basin. and it is aimed to determine on the basis of discourse what kind of "concepts" a specific and strategic issue is presented to the masses in a real or disinformative way. Method: In this direction, the "R Language" programming tool was used in the classification of news headlines and brief summaries in terms of sentiment analysis and it was tried to determine what kind of sentiment the discourse contents correspond to. Findings: As a result of the analysis, it was observed that the "positive" words in the Turkish and foreign press were compared to the "negative words". Originality: The greatest originality of this study is the analysis of the energy resources in the Eastern Mediterranean region, which is important both economically and politically, with an original methodology.
