Catholic Church’s Social Teachings in the Context of Globalization
Abstract
Today time and space perception has altered and our world is characterized as a global village. Social consequences of rapid technological developments experienced in transportation and communication have showed itself in the daily life of communities through politics, economics and culture as a close contact, converge and sometimes deepening differences. Religion as a social reality is not out of this global interaction process. In this article, social teachings, developed by Catholic Church which is one of the oldest religious institutions, as response to social questions were dealt with. It can be said that the social teachings as an intersection of state and and the church which defends the church and state separation, have an influence on global politics through the discourse addressing the all societies.
