The Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction in the Relationship Between Employee Motivation and Employee Voice: A Study on Workers in the Poultry Sector
Öz
The primary objective of this research is to examine how employee motivation relates to employee voice, emphasizing the role of job satisfaction as a mediating factor. The main problem of this study is to explain how the relationship between employee motivation and employee voice is shaped through job satisfaction. Although the bilateral relationships among these three variables have been frequently examined in the literature, studies focusing specifically on the mediating effect of job satisfaction remain limited. This gap constitutes the unique contribution of the present research. Accordingly, the aim of the study is to determine whether job satisfaction plays a mediating role in the effect of employees’ motivation levels on their voice behavior in the context of the poultry sector.
A quantitative research design was employed, and survey technique was used as the data collection instrument. Data were gathered from 214 employees working in poultry companies operating in the district of Bandirma (Balikesir) and analyzed using SPSS software. Statistical techniques were applied. Reliability and validity analyses of the employed scales were conducted, and the results revealed that the scales had high levels of reliability.
The findings demonstrated a positive and significant relationship between employee motivation and employee voice. Likewise, significant associations were found between job satisfaction and both variables. Moreover, job satisfaction was found to partially mediate the effect of employee motivation on employee voice. These results indicate that organizations can foster employee voice by implementing practices that enhance job satisfaction and overall employee well-being. The study thus provides valuable implications for managers and human resource professionals while also making a theoretical contribution to the relevant body of literature.
