Arabian Linguists İn The Nawâdir Literature
Abstract
Nevadir is used generally for less used words and dictionaries which are taken for them. It refers to the strange and often humorous events that are unique in Arabic literature and the works in which they are written. In these works, hundreds of anecdotes about various topics and persons from every field of life were given. In these works, some of the figures who were subject to anecdotes are nahivists (Arabian Linguists) who were expert of Arabic grammar. Nahivists preferred a fancy language in their daily talk as well as in scientific studies. For this reason, there has been a lot of discussion between them and their interlocutors. These discussions seem to be the first and most important material of anecdotes about them. İn our work, the sources of classical Arabic literature have been recorded and the ones related to nahivians have been identified and analyzed.
