Öz

Bulgar tarihçiler, 2010 yılında Bulgaristan’da basılan Justin
McCarthy’nin “Ölüm ve Sürgün” adlı kitabı konusunda çok ilginç ve
birbirinden farklı iki yaklaşım sergilemektedirler. Kitap, hem McCarthy’nin
yorumunu kabul eden tarihçileri hem de bakış açısını değiştirmemekte direnen
aşırı tutucu tarihçileri zor durumda bırakmıştır.
Günümüze kadar yanlış bilgilerle beslenen, Müslüman halkının acılarla
dolu ölümü ve sürgünü ile ilgili bilgi sahibi olmayan Bulgar kamuoyuna karşı
çıkıp gerçeği söyleyebilecek cesareti bulan tarihçilerin olup olmadığı konusu,
makalemizin içeriğini oluşturmaktadır.

Bulgarian Historians and the Book of Justin Mccarthy’s “Death And Exile”

Öz

Bulgarian historians display two very interesting and very diverse
approaches when it comes to Justin McCarthy’s book “Death and Exile,”
which was printed in 2010 in Bulgaria. This book has placed both the historians
who accept McCarthy’s views and those who are adamant not to change their
fundamentalist views in quite a controversial position.
Our article focuses on whether there are any historians who are bold
enough to rise up and speak the truth to the Bulgarian public who, until today,
have been fed misinformation and have no knowledge about the death and exile
of their fellow Muslim citizens.
