SQUAMOUS ODONTOGENIC TUMOUR OCCURRING IN THE RIGHT POSTERIOR MANDIBLE

Öz

Squamous odontogenic tumour (SOT) is a rare benign odontogenic neoplasm of the jaws. It is typically slow-growing and locally invasive. This case report depicts the clinical presentation, radiographic findings, surgical management, and follow-up of a SOT occurring in the right posterior mandible of a 13-year-old girl. The treatment involved en bloc resection of the tumour, followed by immediate reconstruction using a rib graft and a reconstruction plate. This report highlights the diagnostic and management chal lenges of SOT in adolescent patients and discusses the rationale for selecting rib graft reconstruction for a growing individual.

SAĞ ARKA MANDİBULADA OLUŞAN SKUAMÖZ ODONTOJENİK TÜMÖR

Öz

Skuamöz odontojenik tümör (SOT), çenenin nadir görülen ve iyi huylu bir odontojenik neoplazmıdır. Genellikle yavaş büyüyen ve lokal invazyon gösteren bir yapısı vardır. Bu olgu sunumunda, 13 yaşında bir kız çocuğunun sağ posterior mandibulasında meydana gelen SOT'un klinik görünümü, radyografik bulguları, cerrahi tedavisi ve takibi ele alınmıştır. Tedavi, tümörün en-blok rezeksiyonu ve ardından kaburga grefti ve rekonstrüksiyon plağı kullanılarak rekonstrüksiyon yapılmasını içermektedir. Bu çalışmada, ergen hastalarda SOT'un tanı ve tedavi zorlukları vurgulanmış ve büyüme çağındaki bir birey için kaburga grefti rekonstrüksiy onunun seçilmesindeki gerekçe tartışılmıştır.
