FİZİK TEDAVİ VE REHABİLİTASYON YÜKSEKOKULU ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN AĞIRLIK DURUMLARI İLE BESLENME ALIŞKANLIKLARININ DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışma, Fizik Tedavi Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin ağırlık durumları ile beslenme alışkanlıklarını belirlemek,
gerekiyorsa sağlıklı beslenmelerine katkıda bulunmak amacıyla yapıldı.
Gereç ve yöntem: Bu çalışmaya yaş ortalaması 19,2 ± 0,9 yıl olan, 54’ü erkek, 105’i kız toplam 159 öğrenci katıldı.
Öğrencilerin ağırlık ve boyları ölçüldü, beden kitle indeksleri hesaplandı. Üç günlük besin tüketimleri alındı.
Günlük alınan enerji ve besin öğeleri, bilgisayar ortamında besin analizi (BEBİS) programı ile belirlendi; Amerikan
Besin Öneri Komitesi (RDA)’nin değerleri ile karşılaştırıldı.
Bulgular: Beden kitle indeksine göre, öğrencilerin %80,5’inin normal, %13,8’inin zayıf, %5,7’sinin de hafif şişman olduğu görüldü. Günlük enerjinin, önerilerin altında alındığı, enerjinin karbonhidrat, protein ve yağdan gelen
oranlarının kızlarda sırasıyla %48, %16, %36, erkeklerde %52, %16 ve %32 olduğu belirlendi. Kızların folik asit,
demir ve kalsiyumu, erkeklerin kalsiyum, lif ve magnezyumu yetersiz (%66 altı) aldıkları, erkeklerin C vitamini dışındaki hemen tüm besin öğelerini kızlardan istatistiksel olarak daha yüksek oranda (p < 0,01) aldıkları gözlendi.
Sonuç: Öğrencilerin lif, folik asit, kalsiyum, demir ve magnezyum gibi önemli besin öğelerini ve enerjiyi yetersiz
aldıkları, büyük çoğunluğunun normal vücut ağırlığına sahip olduğu, ancak zayıflık oranının kızlarda yüksek olduğu belirlendi.
