Öz
This case report shows that appendix cancer may mimic gastrointestinal pathologies as well as genitourinary pathologies. A female, 42 years old (G5P2A1C2) patient was admitted to the clinic with groin pain. Pelvic ultrasonography revealed a dense adnexal mass of 98x26 mm on the right. Since general surgical pathology was not considered after the patient’s preoperative general surgery consultation, exploratory laparotomy was performed. The uterus and bilateral ovaries appeared normal, but the apppendix was enlarged, 15x5 cm in size. Appendectomy was performed by the general surgeon and the histopathology of the specimen resulted as low grade musinous neoplasia. Appendiceal tumors account for less than 0.4% of neoplasias in the gastrointestinal tract. They are found in less than 2% of appendectomies. Gynecologists evaluating masses in the right lower abdomen should consider the appendiceal masses in the differential diagnosis.

Bu vaka sunumu apendiks kanserinin diğer gastrointestinal patolojiler gibi genitoüriner patolojilerle de karışabildiğini göstermektedir. 42 yaşında G5P2A1C2 olan hasta kasık ağrısı ile kliniğimize başvurdu. Hastanın ultrasonografisinde sağ adneks lojunda 98x26 mm yoğun içerikli kitle dikkati çekmektedir. Hastanın preop genel cerrahi konsultasyonu sonrasında cerrahi patoloji düşünülmediğinden eksploratif laparatomi yapıldı. Operasyonda uterus ve bilateral overler doğaldı. Apendiks 15x5 cm büyüklüğünde izlendi. Genel cerrahi uzmanı tarafından appendektomi yapılan hastanın patolojisi low grade müsinöz neoplazi gelmiştir.Apandiks kanseri tüm gastrointestinal sistem neoplazilerinin %0,4’ünden daha az insidansa sahiptir. Appendektomize hastaların %2’sinde apendiks kanseri tespit edilmiştir. Sağ alt kadranla ilgili kitleleri değerlendirirken jinekologlar ayırıcı tanıda apandikse ait kitleleri de düşünmelidir.
