Although the earliest written works of Turkish belong to the 8th century, it is mostly considered that a reŞned oral tradition precedes these written period. Owing to Turks conversions, and migrations and expeditions through the Euroasia for centuries, Turkish interacted with other languages and cultures. During these interactions, Turkish social and mental world view handled the new life styles, concepts and vocabulary. At the beginning of these confrontations and transformations, Turkish largely tended to employ Turkish equivalent patterns rather than the original ones. In this paper, some samples of this tendency in linguistic level and some equivalents for the original terms are exhibited, in particular of the religous and medical ones Indeed, all these denote the capability of creating new words for the new conditions in Turkish and refutes the claim that it couldn’t be the language of scientiŞc activities
