Türk Siyasî Tarihinde Askerî Müdahalelere Bir Örnek: Demokrat Partililere Siyasî Haklarının İadesi Meselesi ve 14-21 Mayıs 1969 Buhranı

Öz

Demokrat Parti (DP)’nin 14 Mayıs 1950’de düzenlenen seçimleri kazanması ve tek başına iktidara gelmesiyle Türkiye’de çok partili hayata resmen geçilmiştir. DP’nin 27 Mayıs 1960’da Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri tarafından gerçekleştirilen bir askerî darbe sonucunda devrilmesi hem Türkiye’de yerleştirilmeye çalışılan demokratik sistemin kesintiye uğramasına yol açmış hem de asker-sivil ilişkilerini etkileyerek sonraki müdahalelere kapı aralamıştır. Çalışmada, 27 Mayıs 1960’dan sonraki süreçte Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri’nin, Türk siyasetinde etkin bir rol oynama çabalarından bahsedilerek 1969 Mayıs’ında Demokrat Partililere siyasî haklarının geri verilmesi meselesinde meclisi ve yürütme organının başı olan Hükümeti etkileme faaliyeti incelenecektir.

An Example to Military Interventions in Turkish Political History: The Issue of the Restoration of Political Rights to Democrat Party Members and the Crisis of 14-21 May 1969

Öz

Multi-party life in Turkey formally began as the Democrat Party (DP) won the elections held on May 14, 1950 and came to power alone. The overthrow of the DP on May 27, 1960 as a result of a military coup by the Turkish Armed Forces led to the interruption of the democratic system that was attempted to establish in Turkey and also affected civil-military relations by paving the way for subsequent interventions. In this study, Turkish Armed Forces’ efforts to play an active role in Turkish politics during the process after May 27, 1960 will be mentioned and besides, in the case of the issue of the restoration of political rights to DP members in May 1969, their activities to influence the parliament and government, which was the head of the executive organ will be examined.
