Çocuklarda Ender Bir Senkop Nedeni: Postural Ortostatik Taşikardi Sendromu: Vaka Sunumu

Öz

Sıklıkla genç kadınlarda görülen postural ortostatik taşi- kardi sendromu POTS nonkardiyak senkop nedenleri arasında, ortostatik intolerans grubu başlığı altında tanım- lanan ender bir senkop nedenidir. Burada tilt testi ile pro- voke olan senkopu ve ortostatik hipotansiyonu olmamakla birlikte ortostatik taşikardisi bulunan 14 yaşında bir kız vaka sunulmuştur. POTS’a ve çocuklarda senkopun provo- ke edilmesi için tilt testinin önemine dikkat çekilmiştir.

A Rare Cause of Syncope in Children: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome - Case Report

Öz

Commonly seen in young women, Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome POTS is among the causes of non- cardiac syncope which is a rare cause of syncope defined under the title of orthostatic intolerance group. A 14 year old girl with syncope, provoked by tilt table test who had orthostatic tachycardia in the absence of orthostatic hypo- tension is presented. POTS and the importance of tilt table test for provocation of syncope in children is emphasized.
