Objective: The aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of duration of breast feeding and the age of introduction of cow’s milk in diet, among children aged 5-15 years with a diagnosis of asthma. Methods: The asthma group n:120 was composed of children followed up in our Outpatient Asthma Clinic, with a diagnosis of asthma whose symptoms emerged between 5-15 years of age the children within similar age ranges, who were admitted to Outpatient Pediatrics Clinic with non-asthmatic complaints comprised the control group n:98 . The data about duration of breast feeding, age of introduction of cow’s milk in diet, gender, the fuel used for heating, cigarette smoking and the presence of indoor allergens were recorded during family interviews and compared between two groups. Results: There was not any statistically significant difference between groups regarding total breast feeding duration. The duration of exclusive breast feeding among asthmatics compared to controls was statistically longer p:0,002 . The parents of asthmatic children were found to initiate cow’s milk into diet much earlier p
