Evaluation of Trends in Digital Entrepreneurship with Vosviewer and Topic Modeling Approach

The aim of this study is to examine the development of digital entrepreneurship studies in the literature between 1990 and 2025 through bibliometric analysis methods. For this purpose, 2426 articles obtained from the Scopus database within the specified years, which have a high impact value in the field of digital entrepreneurship and include certain criteria, were analyzed. In this study, VOSviewer was used as a bibliometric mapping tool and LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) as a topic modeling approach. The main contribution of this research to the field is that it addresses a current phenomenon by using distance-based and graph-based mapping tools together. In the study, information on the countries, academic journals and authors with the highest number of publications in the field of digital entrepreneurship was accessed, and articles were analyzed for co-words, citations and co-citations. The findings show that digital entrepreneurship differs from traditional entrepreneurship, especially in the increasing importance of information technologies, reveal the effects of digital twin, digital platform capacity and SMACIT technologies, and provide a summary of digital entrepreneurship research categorized into main themes. This summary serves as a detailed reference, assessing digital entrepreneurship as a rapidly evolving field by providing links between studies.

Vosviewer ve Konu Modelleme Yaklaşımı ile Dijital Girişimcilikteki Trendlerin Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, dijital girişimcilik çalışmalarının 1990-2025 yılları arasında literatürdeki gelişiminin bibliyometrik analiz yöntemleriyle ele alınmasıdır. Bu amaçla belirlenen yıllar içerisinde Scopus veri tabanından elde edilen, dijital girişimcilik alanında yüksek etki değerine sahip ve belirli kriterleri içeren 2426 makale incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma içerisinde bibliyometrik haritalama aracı olarak VOSviewer ve konu modelleme yaklaşımı olan LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın alana en temel katkısı mesafe tabanlı ve grafik tabanlı haritalama araçlarını birlikte kullanarak güncel bir olguyu ele almasıdır. Çalışmada dijital girişimcilik alanında en çok yayın yapılan ülke, akademik dergi ve yazarlarla ilgili bilgilere erişilmiş, makalelerde eş-kelime, atıf ve ortak atıf analizi yapılmıştır. Bulgular, dijital girişimciliğin geleneksel girişimcilikten özellikle bilgi teknolojilerinin artan önemi noktasında farklılaştığını göstermekte, dijital ikiz, dijital platform kapasitesi ve SMACIT teknolojilerinin etkilerini ortaya koymakta, ana temalara kategorize edilmiş dijital girişimcilik araştırmalarının bir özetini sunmaktadır. Bu özet, çalışmalar arasındaki bağlantıları sunarak hızla gelişen bir alan olan dijital girişimciliği değerlendirerek detaylı bir referans görevi görmektedir.
