The Investigation of Entrepreneurship Attitudes and Behaviour of Efficiency Driven Countries: Specific Suggestions to Türkiye

Öz

Purpose: Entrepreneurship, the trending process of generating economic growth, has both institutional and individual dimensions. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of institutional and individual factors on the probability of becoming an entrepreneur.
Methodology/Approach: The data required for this study is derived from Global Entrepreneurship Monitor database and covers specifically efficiency-driven countries. Panel data analyses are implemented in order to indicate the relationships between the entrepreneurship and its factors.
Findings: Analyzes revealed that perceived opportunities, perceived capabilities, female/male ratio, internal market openness level are positively associated with entrepreneurship. However, financing for entrepreneurs has negatively associated with entrepreneurship.
Practical implications: Suggestions for Turkish Entrepreneurial Ecosystem are developed.
Originality: An inclusive study was carried out to analyze whether 8 institutional and 5 individual factors have significant impact on entrepreneurial activities of efficiency-driven countries. Additionally, some practical implications were developed in the scope of Türkiye.
Limitations: The lack of data of all efficiency-driven countries in GEM database limited the study.
