Buji Ateşlemeli Motor Egzoz Atık Isı Geri Kazanımı Termoelektrik Jeneratör Matlab/Simulink Modeli
In this study, a theoretical model with Matlab/Simulink of thermoelectric generator (TEG) using for waste heat recovery in a spark ignition (SI) engine developed. In the improvement of the TEG model, the exhaust gas temperatures and mass flow rates used which is obtained from the experimental studies of the two-cylinder SI engine operating in the range of 1500-4000 rpm. The TEG model has a three-layer structure, consisting of an exhaust heat exchanger and two engine cooling water exchangers placing on both surfaces of the exhaust exchanger. 3 mm thick 6063-T6 type aluminum material used as heat exchanger material. Bi2Te3 material selected for both n and p-type semiconductors in thermoelectric modules (TEM). A total of 40 pieces TEM used having 5x4 arrangements on both layers of TEG. The results of the Matlab/Simulink model compared with the experimental results which are obtained at the previous studies (Gürbüz and Akçay, 2015). As a result, the DC electrical power production with the Matlab/Simulink model of the TEG changed in the range of 6.36-50.96 W for the engine speed range of 1500-4000 rpm. Also, a good correlation (R2= 0.991) found between experimental and Matlab/ Simulink model results.
