In this study, it was investigated whether there is a relationship between parents' irrational beliefs and their awareness of their gifted child. As a method, a relational screening model was used. The study group, formed by convenient sampling, consists of parents of primary and secondary school students registered at the Science and Art Center in the 2021-2022 academic year. A total of 289 parents, 247 mothers, and 42 fathers, constitute the sample of the study. The Parent Irrational Beliefs Scale, Parent Awareness Scale- Parents with Gifted Children, and Personal Information Form were used as data collection tools in the study. Research variables were examined in terms of gender, employment status, parental education level and age, and the data were tested with independent group t-tests and ANOVA. As a result of the research; A negative significant relationship was found between the awareness of parents with gifted children and their irrational beliefs. While there was a negative significant relationship between the irrational beliefs of parents with gifted children and the sub-dimensions of parental awareness scale, perfectionism and self-directedness- responsibility, there was no significant relationship between parents' irrational beliefs and motivation- success and stress- conflict dimensions.
