Pharmacological Effects of the Scorpion (Androctonus crassi- c a u d a ) Venom from Urfa Environment on Laboratory Animals a n d the Antagonistic Effects of Streptomycin to Most of These Effects

In this research, the pharmacological and toxicological effects of the venom from the A.crassicauda, from which Turkish polyvalent scorpion sera is prepared, were investigated. In the first section, the effects of the venom on the isolated organs were searched. It is determined that, while the constrictor effect of the venom is potentiated with eserine; the same effect is inhibited with atropine, streptomycin, morphine and arfonad. It is also found that, the constrictor effect of the venom on the rectus abdominis muscle of the frog is antagonized by streptomycin and d-tubocurarine. In the second section, the substances which might inhibit the hypertensive and bronchoconstrictor effects of the venom were investigated. The hypertensive effect is inhibited completely with priscol, a nd partially with reserpine and streptomycin. It is also determined that, streptomycin prevents signigicantly the bronchoconstrictor effect of the venom. In the third section, assay on the toxicity of A.crassicauda venom were carried out. Although streptomycin prevented some of the important effects of the venom, no significant difference in toxicity was observed.

Urfa Yöresi Akrep (Androctonus crassicauda) Zehirinin Deney Hayvanlarındaki Farmakolojik Etkileri İle Bu Etkilerden Bir Çoğuna Streptomisin'in Antagonistik Cevapları

Öz

Bu çalışmada Türk polivalan akrep serumunun hazırlandığı tür olan A. crassicauda zehirinin farmakolojik ve toksikolojik etkileri araştırıldı. I. Bölümde zehirin izole organlar üzerindeki etkileri incelendi. Zehirin kobay ileumundaki kastına etkisinin eserinle potansiyalize olduğu, buna karşın atropin, streptomisin, morfin ve arfonad ile inhibe edildiği saptandı. Zehirin kurbağa rectus abdominisindeki kastırıcı etkisinin ise d-tubokürarin ve streptomisin ile antagonize edildiği bulundu. I I. Bölümde, zehirin hipertansif ve bronkokonstriktör etkilerini inhibe edebilecek maddeler araştırıldı. Hipertansif etkiyi priscol'ün tümüyle, reserpin ve streptomisinin ise önemli ölçüde inhibe ettiği gösterildi. Ayrıca, streptomisinin zehirin bronkokonstriktör etkisini de belirgin şekilde önlediği saptandı. III. Bölümde ise A.crassicauda zehirinin toksisitesine ilişkin deneyler yürütüldü. Streptomisinin, zehirin bazı önemli etkilerini önlemesine karşın, toksisitede belirgin bir fark oluşturamadığı gözlendi.
