COMPARISON OF THE ANTIBACTERIAL EFFICIENCY OF SUPER ANIONIC OXYGEN SOLUTION CONTAINING SILVER NANOPARTICLES (NPAG) AND SUPER ANIONIC OXYGEN SOLUTION (H2O8) AGAINST E. FAECALIS AND S. MUTANS – AN IN VITRO STUDY

Öz

Objective: The purpose of this study is to compare the antimicrobial effect of super anionic oxygen solution containing silver nanoparticles (NpAg) and super anionic oxygen solution (H2O8) in vitro
Material and Method: “The antimicrobial activity of the solutions was tested against Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 (E. faecalis) and Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 (S. mutans) standart bacteria. The effects of them applied on the bacterial suspension after 10 minutes were examined in terms of colony reduction.
Result and Discussion: As a result of the efficacy tests, NpAg solution showed a 46.67% (0.27 log) decrease in E. faecalis concentration and a 58.8% (0.38 log) decrease in S. mutans concentration. Similarly, H2O8 solution showed an 84.67% (0.81 log) decrease in E. faecalis concentration and a 62.94% (0.43 log) decrease in S. mutans concentration. Under the limitations of this study, it was concluded that super anionic oxygen solutions (NpAg) and super anionic oxygen solutions (H2O8) have a significant antimicrobial flora against E. faecalis and S. mutans, but are attenuated when compared to irrigants routinely used clinically. Since this study did not simulate the oral environment, future studies may provide more effective results.

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı gümüş nanopartikülleri içeren süper anyonik oksijen solüsyonu (NpAg) ile süper anyonik oksijen solüsyonu (H2O8) antimikrobiyal etkisini karşılaştırmaktır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Solüsyonların antimikrobiyal aktivitesi Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 (E. faecalis) ve Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 (S. mutans) standart bakterilere karşı test edilmiştir. Bakteri süspansiyonuna 10 dakika sonra uygulananların koloni azalması açısından etkileri incelenmiştir.
Sonuç ve Tartışma: Yapılan etkinlik testleri sonucunda NpAg solüsyonu, E. faecalis konsantrasyonunda %46.67 (0.27 log), S. mutans konsantrasyonunda ise %58.8 (0.38 log) azalma gösterdi. Benzer şekilde H2O8 solüsyonu, E. faecalis konsantrasyonunda %84.67 (0.81 log) azalma ve S. mutans konsantrasyonunda %62.94 (0.43 log) azalma gösterdi. Bu çalışmanın sınırlamaları altında, süper anyonik oksijen çözeltilerinin (NpAg) ve süper anyonik oksijen çökeltilerinin (H2O8) E. faecalis ve S. mutans'a karşı önemli bir antimikrobiyal etkiye sahip olduğu ancak klinikte rutin olarak kullanılan irrigasyonlarla karşılaştırıldığında zayıf kaldığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu çalışma ağız ortamını simüle etmediği için gelecekteki çalışmalar daha etkili sonuçlar verebilir.
