Yıl 2019, Cilt: 1 Sayı: 1, 27 - 39, 26.12.2019

Öz

Araştırma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin
palyatif bakıma yönelik düşüncelerini belirlemek amacı ile yapılmıştır.

     Tanımlayıcı tipte olan araştırma bir
devlet üniversitesinin Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesinin Hemşirelik Bölümü’nde
2017-2018 eğitim- öğretim bahar yarıyılının üçüncü sınıfında eğitim gören ve
araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 79 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler “Kişisel
Bilgi Formu” ve “Palyatif Bakıma İlişkin Görüşler Formu” ile toplanmıştır.
Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPSS 22 programı ve analizinde; yüzdelik, sayı
ve ki-kare kullanıldı.

     Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %45,5’i
palyatif bakım dersi aldığını, %54,4’ü dersi almadığını belirtmişlerdir.
Palyatif bakım dersi alan öğrencilerin %58,3’ü palyatif bakım konusunda bilgi
durumlarını kısmen yeterli, %41,7’si yeterli, dersi almayan öğrencilerin
%48,8’i ise yetersiz bulduklarını belirtmiştir. Palyatif bakım dersi alan öğrencilerin
%88,9’u, dersi almayanların %53,5’i palyatif bakımın yaşam kalitesini artırmak,
dersi alanların %94,4’ü, dersi almayanların %53,5’i yas sürecinde aileye destek
olmak, dersi alanların %80,6’sı, dersi almayanların %48,8’i fiziksel ve
psikolojik destek sağlamak olduğunu ifade etmiştir. Palyatif bakım dersi alan
öğrencilerin %58,3’ü palyatif bakımın hasta tanısını aldığı andan itibaren
başladığını belirtirken, bu oran dersi almayan öğrencilerde %27,9’dur
(p<0,05).

      Hemşirelik eğitiminde verilen palyatif
bakım dersinin, öğrencilerin palyatif bakım farkındalığını geliştirdiği
düşünülmektedir. Palyatif bakım konusunun hemşirelik lisans-yüksek lisans
eğitim müfredatına teorik ve pratik olarak entegre edilmesi palyatif bakımın
gelişmesini sağlayacaktır.
