Menopause-Related Genitourinary Syndrome

Öz

The terms vulvo vaginal atrophy and atrophic vaginitis are thought to be in sufficient to define the menopause syndromes related with the changes observed in vulva, vagina and lower urinary system depending on estrogen deficiency. The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health and North American Menopause Society have established a study group for a more accurate and inclusive terminology, and developed and approved the term menopause-related genitourinary syndrome for the symptoms observed in vulva, vagina and lower urinar ysystem in the menopausal period. By this compilation, it was aimed to explain the symptoms, prevalence, diagnosis, treatment and midwifery are care of the genitourinary syndrome related with menopausal period.

Menopozla İlgili Genitoüriner Sendrom

Öz

Vulvovajinal atrofi ve atrofik vajinit terimlerinin, östrojen eksikliğine bağlı vulva, vajina ve alt üriner sistemde görülen değişiklikler ile ilgili menopoz semptomlarını tanımlamada yetersiz olduğu düşünülmektedir. The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health ve North American Menopause Society, daha doğru ve kapsayıcı bir terminoloji için çalışma grubu oluşturmuş ve menopoz döneminde vulva, vajina ve alt üriner sistemde görülen semptomlar için menopozla ilgili genitoüriner sendrom terimini geliştirmiş ve onaylamışlardır. Bu derleme ile menopoz dönemi ile ilgili genitoüriner sendromun semptomları, görülme sıklığı, tanı, tedavi ve ebelik bakımının açıklanması amaçlanmıştır.
