In cases where vital functions are
threatened, the first things to do are defined as basic life support. Basic
life support in Pediatrics contributes to increased survival rates in emergency
situations as well as decreased morbidity. In recent years, in the light of
scientific studies, significant changes have been made in pediatric basic life
support applications and new guidelines have been published that provide ease
of application. It is life-saving to have staff such as teachers, drivers,
safety officers working in areas such as schools, nurseries, buses where the
paediatric population is in bulk trained on basic life support. It should be
government policy to hold courses and informational meetings at certain times
on basic life support in Pediatrics. In this review, the issue of basic life
support in the pediatric patient population was discussed in detail.
Hayati
