The aim of this study is to investigate the plant characteristics and forage yields of corn and soybeans
grown together at simple and different sowing rates in Bilecik conditions and to increase the forage yield and
quality by determining the contribution share of soybean without decreasing the sowing norm of corn. In 2015, the
experiment was carried out with three replications according to the randomized blocks trial design. The dominant
plant corn was planted to be 15 cm over 70 rows between rows and added with 30%, 50% and 70% soybean on the
row, soybean is grown together. In this study, the highest plant height, leaf and stem ratio, crude protein ratio, crude
protein yield and total dry matter yield were obtained from Corn + 70% soybean cultivation in order to increase
forage efficiency and quality. Besides, statistically, the highest green and dry matter yields were obtained from Corn
+ 70% soybean sowing rate. However, since the level of digestion is very slow and low, the ratio of ADF and NDF
required to be in low amounts in the region is found to be lowest in Corn + 70% soybean sowing rate. At the end
of the study, the highest total dry matter yield, the total crude protein yield, the dry matter yield rate and the crude
protein yield equivalent yield ratio were determined as Corn + 70% soybean seed rate. Bilecik conditions were also
favorable for Corn+ 70% soybean cultivation rates in order to obtain good quality forage and to increase the field
use intensity.
