China’s Model of Global Logistics Governance: A Geo-economic Perspective on the Logink Platform

As global supply chains and production networks undergo fundamental restructuring in the 21st century, China pursues extensive initiatives to digitalize trade, improve logistics operations, and reinforce data management systems. The country establishes new production hubs, modernizes its logistics infrastructure, and thereby both deepens ties with existing markets and opens new trade corridors. Within this framework, Logink -initially conceived as a domestic project- has evolved into a global logistics information platform coordinated under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). While presented as a mechanism to enhance efficiency and facilitate cooperation, the system provokes substantial debates concerning data security, technological dependence, market centralization, and geopolitical spheres of influence. This study examines how China positions the Logink platform within the framework of geoeconomic competition, assessing its capacity to redefine global logistics standards and reshape international trade infrastructure, alongside the associated risks and limitations.
