Determination of the factors affecting the adaptation of foreign students coming to study in Turkey is of great importance in order to find out the problems which they face, their expectations, and what must be taken into account in providing services for them. The aim of this study was to determine the problems of adaptation of foreign students studying in the nursing department of Bursa Uludağ University and the affecting factors. The research was conducted as a cross-sectional and descriptive study. It was performed in the academic year of 2018-2019 in the Nursing Department of the Health Sciences Faculty of Bursa Uludağ University with foreign students. The sample consisted of the 43 foreign students in the nursing department who volunteered to take part in the study. A Student Description Form and the Adaptation to University Scale were used to collect data. It was found that 65.1% of the students included in the research were female; their mean age was 20.88±1.78 years, 11.6% had come to Turkey from Syria, and 44.2% of them were living with their families. It was determined that 79.1% of the students had no scholarship from anywhere, 81.4% had chosen the nursing department willingly, 41.9% had taken language classes at the Turkish Language Teaching Center (TÖMER), and 67.4% found their language level sufficient. Their total score mean on the Adaptation to University Scale was calculated as 67.39±10.64.
