This paper studies the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) expanding process, its advantages and challenges with the new and old member states; the SCO-Turkey relations and Turkey’s importance for the SCO. in this study the author also analyses the the increasing economic rivalry between two important members of SCO (China and Russia), in the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This research has investigated that SCO policies are majorly driven by China, China and Russia’s economic rivalry is concerned to deteriorate SCO function. Currently Turkey is keeping its SCO’s Dialogue Partner status, while Pakistan and India were accepted as full members and Belarus was upgraded to the Observer Country status.
