Design and Implementation of a Low Cost and Efficient Arduino Based Egg Incubator System

Öz

This study presents the design and implementation of a low-cost, energy-efficient incubator system based on an Arduino microcontroller. The proposed system is designed to accommodate both quail and chicken eggs by providing optimal temperature and humidity conditions through an automated control mechanism. Temperature is continuously monitored via digital sensors and regulated using high-power heaters and fans to minimize fluctuations. Humidity is passively controlled through a water reservoir, ensuring stability and energy savings. The developed modular mechanical turning mechanism allows easy adaptation for different egg types, enhancing the system's versatility and cost-effectiveness. Real-time environmental data and system status are displayed on a screen for user convenience. The project also incorporates safety features such as thermal alarms and over-temperature protection. The system offers a reliable and economical alternative for home use and small-scale farms. This study contributes to hatching efficiency and sustainable agricultural practices. The dynamic control approach of the system, supported by digital sensor feedback, distinguishes it from conventional constant-power incubators, offering significant energy savings and the potential to improve hatching rates through stable temperature control. Future work will focus on the implementation of a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control algorithm with solid-state relay (SSR) switching to further enhance temperature precision and system reliability.
